My name is Benjie Nelson. I created this blog because, I’m exploring creativity and all the forms it takes in my life. For the longest time, I never considered myself an artist simply because I couldn’t draw. Meanwhile, I am. Imagine my surprise when I finally acknowledged to myself that maybe I’m an artist after all! Funny how the mind works, isn’t it?
By trade, I am a graphic designer and have played with photography most of my life. I paint, make beaded jewelry using gemstones, play with polymer clay and generally create using whatever feels right to me in the moment. So I guess you could say, I am a creative and an artist. Oh and I like to cook too… I especially love making ice cream, chocolate-cinnamon anyone?
I got the idea for this blog when my friend, Susan said to me on my birthday, “My wish for you this year is that you be as fearless in your creative life as you are in the kitchen.” Well, I had to do something!
I will be sharing my creative journey with you on my way to creating wholeness for myself. I will be sharing my photo’s, my art, maybe the occasional recipe and perhaps the path it took me to create these works. I hope you like them and I especially hope you enjoy the journey we take together.
